Healthy Moms, Healthy Babies, what is it?

The Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program (CPNP) Healthy Moms, Healthy Babies provides free services to future moms and their family throughout Canada.

Program Objectives are:

  • Improve the health of pregnant women and their babies
  • Promote and support breastfeeding
  • Offer services and activities to inform pregnant women or future moms
  • Break isolation
  • Facilitate access to information in French with the Resource Centre and the books and videos borrowing service

Services offered by Healthy Moms, Healthy Babies:

When subscribing to the program, you get access to:

  • Confidential services with a resource person
  • Support in French related to nutrition and health during pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • A possibility to receive a nutritional evaluation and diet counseling
  • Free distributions of prenatal and postnatal vitamins and supplements
  • Breastfeeding support
  • Post partum home assistance for parents of newborns
  • A Repas-répit on the first Tuesday of every month: nutritive lunches offered to pregnant women, new moms and their family
  • Rental of breastfeeding pillows, pregnancy belt and breast pump (at the low price of the spare kit)
  • Quarterly publication of the newsletter La Cigogne
  • Workshops on themes around perinatality
  • Distribution of the new parents kit in partnership with the SOFA’s Literacy service
  • A collection of resources (books, cassettes, videos) on perinatality

How to participate:

You can register to the program by contacting, resource-mom, available at the Centre de la Francophonie, suite 810, every Tuesday from 9:00 to 5:00.
